Rescued from City of Buffalo Animal Shelter, Dublin & Alba are both Cockapoo's (Alba, the smaller of the two also has a little Bichon in her). I photograph so many different breeds from all walks of life. Pups from rescues, breeders, pups trained for law enforcement, service dogs, therapy dogs, etc. So lets learn more about these breeds starting with the Cockapoo...

Fun Facts about Cockapoos

  1. Hybrid Origins: Cockapoos are a crossbreed between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle. This combination gives them a unique blend of traits from both breeds, such as intelligence and affection.
  2. Hypoallergenic Coat: Thanks to their Poodle heritage, many Cockapoos have a low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat, making them a great option for people with allergies.
  3. Friendly and Sociable: Cockapoos are known for their friendly, affectionate nature. They love being around people and other animals, making them great family pets.
  4. Intelligent and Trainable: Both Poodles and Cocker Spaniels are intelligent breeds, so Cockapoos are quick learners. They respond well to positive reinforcement training methods.
  5. Variety of Sizes: Depending on whether they're bred from a toy, miniature, or standard Poodle, Cockapoos can vary in size, ranging from small to medium-sized dogs.
  6. Energetic and Playful: Cockapoos are full of energy and love to play. They need regular exercise to stay happy and healthy, whether it’s through walks, games, or playtime with other dogs.
  7. Loyal Companions: Cockapoos form strong bonds with their owners and love to be close to their families. They are often described as “velcro dogs” because they like to stay by your side.
  8. Great Therapy Dogs: Their gentle, calm demeanor and ability to connect with people make them popular choices for therapy work.

They're an all-around delightful breed with a loving, easygoing personality!
